Some days will be sick days

Today is one of those days. It’s a sick day. I’ve been feeling ill for a while now, but have just allowed myself to acknowledge it for short periods of time (usually just enough time to search for Advil), but then, as mothers do, I marched on.  Today is not one of the march-on days….

I have kicked off my Mom-shoes, I have put down my Business-purse and I’m having a cup of Rooibos tea.

Be kind to yourself

Be kind to yourself

I am being kind to this body while it fights the germs on my behalf. Hey, I’ll even honour my wonderful immune system and thank it for working so hard, by having a slice of toast slathered with Raw Honey.

I am being kind to Me today.

I once dropped my son off at kindergarten when he was about 3 years old and I was looking as dreadful as I was feeling.  A little girl at the front door came up to me and asked whether I was not feeling well (yes, it was THAT obvious).  I told her that I was feeling a little sick and with big eyes she replied: “But you’re a Mommy.  Who is going to take care of you?”

Today I remember the words of that little Soul.

I will take care of me, little One.  I will be as kind to myself as I would be to anyone else in my family if they were feeling under the weather.

So, remember to take care of You today and every day, even if you are feeling healthy and strong!  Loving and caring for yourself is another way of embracing your Power.

Love, always
